Why does it matter?

Just as you do not want to overload an electrical plug in your house, you do not want to overload your battery power pack. 

Overloading a LiFePO₄ (LFP) battery pack—whether by drawing too much current, overcharging, or charging/discharging outside its safe voltage range—can lead to several issues. Here's what can happen depending on the type of overload:

    Immediate effect: Excessive current can overheat the battery, damaging the internal cells and wiring.

    Protection: Most LFP battery packs include a Battery Management System (BMS) that cuts power to prevent over current damage.

    If protection fails or is bypassed:

        Heat buildup can lead to internal short circuits.

        Cell degradation or capacity loss.

        Risk of melting connectors or burnt traces
